WELCOME
Throughout my career, I have fully dedicated myself to becoming as proficient and skilled an artist as possible. I have now been fully self employed for over 10 years.
I have gained vast experience in various aspects of professional makeup, with my main expertise lying within the Bridal Sector.
During my 14 years experience, I’ve been privileged to work with over 700 bridal parties, always providing a first class service to ensure my clients look, and feel their absolute best.
My style can be transformational, with an ability to bring out features, providing stunning results both in person and in photographs.
I began my career working informally with local photographers in 2011, before initially studying in London at the Beauty Institute, Covent Garden in 2013. From there, I then travelled to Los Angeles where I studied Celebrity Makeup in Beverly Hills, CA.
I am also qualified in Body Painting, SFX and Asian Bridal Makeup. I frequently teach other makeup professionals, and host various themed Masterclasses throughout the year at my Inverurie based Studio.
I pride myself in only using the best products available, containing brands such as Tom Ford, Gucci, NARS, Dolce & Gabbaba, Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel, Hermès, and of course my own brand – Jewel Cosmetics which I incorporated in 2020.
I also published my own best selling book, ‘Business for Makeup Artists’ available worldwide on Amazon & have appeared on Channel 4 documentary ‘Extreme Makeovers’ showcasing my work. I have also been published in several Wedding, Lifestyle & Beauty Magazines over the years.

Julia did the bridal make up for myself, bridesmaids, flower girl and mother of the bride at our wedding recently.
Not only is Julia exceptionally talented at making us all feel very glamorous she is incredibly understanding as to her clients needs, we all have individual likes/dislikes and looks that we prefer when it comes to make up and Julia did a fantastic job at making sure everyone felt comfortable in their looks, tweaking bits here and there to fit everyone’s individual style.
I must say Julia brings more than just her MUA skills to the table though, she is an absolute joy to have as part of your morning, keeping me calm when nervous started to show and providing a good giggle along the way.
